The Instructional Designer designs, develops, implements, and maintains electronically delivered blended, multimedia blended learning solutions. Instructional content includes but is not limited to e-learning modules, video based scenarios, instructional webcasts, training videos, mobile learning, and social learning/networking activities.

  • Develop initiatives to advance employees sales effectiveness, business excellence and core competencies.
  • Utilizing a Multi-Media approach, build highly interactive e-learning and training content from scratch.  High levels of proficiency with the following are necessary:
    • Articulate 360
    • Vyond
    • Camtasia
    • Adobe Suite of Products
    • A/V equipment
  • Utilize a systematic instructional design methodology to analyze, design, develop, and evaluate quality training materials and courses
  • Conduct detailed needs analysis, task analysis, learner analysis, and performance gap analysis to determine appropriate instructional design strategies
  • Create training evaluations and/or knowledge and performance assessments for all training deliverables
  • Perform the entire instructional design process following the ADDIE and/or ISD model
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of learning theories/principles and instructional design processes
  • Ability to write video training scripts for training video production
  • Lead and project manage assigned training projects across different divisions and functions within organization
  • Plan and project manage all phases of the instructional design process, including needs analysis, curriculum/course design, development, implementation/testing and program evaluation
  • Plan, develop, and maintain project documentations such as training plans, project plans, detailed design documents, storyboards, scripts for assigned training projects
  • Schedule and coordinate course material design and development activities with clients, subject matter experts, and reviewers as a collaborative effort, acting as both project leader and liaison between Talent Development and internal and external clients
  • Identify technical and communication requirements for all new training programs and support program pilot and implementation
  • Escalate unexpected events impacting project schedule, budget & resources
  • May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

  • Manages the day-to-day and ongoing operation, maintenance, usage, analysis and administration of the Learning Management System
  • Uploads courses, assessments and other materials to the LMS
  • Performs quality assurance checks on content and tests content functionality and communication with LMS prior to deployment
  • Answers and resolves technical issues related to the LMS system. Serves as a point of contact for managers and employees for questions and problems relating to the LMS system
  • Delivers routine reporting as well as preparation of ad-hoc reports
  • A Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience at developing e-learning courseware following Instructional Systems Development (ISD) or ADDIE practices
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in graphic design, video production, web media design
  • Minimum 2 years ID experience in a large corporate environment
  • Working knowledge of graphic design theory, page and screen layout
  • Experience working with various Learning Management Systems (CORNERSTONE preferred), building interactive e-learning programs using Articulate 360.
  • Experience shooting/producing/editing videos using AV equipment and Adobe Premiere or another video production software.
  • Web knowledge – HTML, Flash, browser compatibility, etc.
  • Experience with creating and managing content with corporate learning portals such as universities, e-campuses, and learning management systems
  • Ability to perform well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and building effective client relationships
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to remain open to new ideas
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning and negotiation skills

The employee is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding.  The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to hear and speak in order to use the telephone, make presentations and communicate with people in an office environment.  The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
The employee will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent. 
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  The employee will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, and the Internet.  The employee is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system.
